Star Fireworks Event Management

We know that organising an event can be a huge task so at Star Fireworks we have a simple philosophy - to make all aspects of our input to your event as straightforward as we can for you. You will have a dedicated single point of contact at Star Fireworks who will be responsible for professionally co-ordinating all aspects of our work - creative, technical, logistical, budgeting, health and safety and of course client service.

Planning

After discussing your overall brief including the purpose of your event, your target audience, the intricacies of your brand and any budget restraints, our designers will survey your site and liaise with your venue if required and put together some high level creative concepts for your consideration. Aerial photography is used for planning site layouts and achieving optimum positioning of fireworks from an audience perspective.

Health and Safety

Star Fireworks have a wealth of knowledge and experience in explosives health and safety management. As well as event planning and firework displays, we manage health and safety and licensing at all Cosmic Group locations, which include the largest licensed firework storage sites in the UK. Safety is the primary concern for the planning, preparation and delivery of any firework display. We will cover all aspects from producing site plans and agreed operating procedures, through to liaison with the ports or Civil Aviation Authority where necessary. We use computerised dynamic modelling to help assess where firework fallout will land for a given wind strength and direction, and calculate any constraints on maximum calibre of firework appropriate for a specific venue. Our in-house Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser produces transportation plans and allocates specific explosives vehicles where necessary to fully comply with the law. All work undertaken is fully covered by public liability insurance.

Crew

Star Fireworks operates a tier structure for all of our professional firing crew. Every event has a dedicated manager responsible for all set-up, firing, de-rig and safety operations on the day of the show. As life-long members of the British Pyrotechnists Association (BPA), Star are fully committed to the BPA professional display crew training and examination scheme. Our experienced staff were actively involved in the development of the scheme, widely accepted as the industry safety standard in the UK. Our firers undergo regular training in accordance with the BPA syllabus and sit exams on a 5-yearly basis. We also have a wide range of crew who are trained specialists in specific areas including European explosives transport ADR driving licence holders and first-aiders.
