The cosmic group including Star Fireworks have been the leading importer of fireworks into the UK for a number of years. With a big presence in the major firework manufacturing country of china, star are perfectly placed to bring the latest products and innovations to its displays.
Our product research and development team visit China regularly throughout the year in their quest to bring the newest and most exciting fireworks to the UK. Through over twenty years of importing from China, we have now established what is probably the strongest group of manufacturers and associates to produce and quality assure our products, of any of the UK importers. Our core factories in China each specialise in different aspects of our annual order – one factory will specialise in manufacturing aerial display shells whilst another will manufacture our colourful range of ice fountains. Each has been carefully chosen after extensive research, watching product demonstrations and visiting factories.
We have a great relationship with our manufacturers and that really comes across in the quality of their products. Every time we go to China they have something new to show us, and every time we design a firework ourselves they never fail to impress in terms of quality, colour and timing of the effects. Working closely with our factories, new products are brainstormed to meet with the gaps in the market, and our R&D department never ceases to generate ideas for fantastic new fireworks. Working alongside our factories abroad to see if the product meets with our high standards is just one advantage that we hold over many of our competitors, many of whom choose Star to supply fireworks on a trade sales basis for their own displays.
Although China is our major manufacturing source, we also use fireworks from many other countries, particularly Europe. Through a relationship with the Spanish Ricasa factory of Ricardo Caballer dating back to the 1990s, we have bought some of the most beautiful aerial shells ever seen. We also buy aerial shells manufactured by the other great Spanish factories of Pirotecnia Igual and Brunchu, as well as the highest quality roman candles from Italy, beautiful rockets from Germany and we also hold stocks of Taiwanese, French and British manufactured products.
Our in-house skilled woodwork and metal work technicians manufacture the hardware often needed to fire the latest firework products. By example, Star Fireworks now imports a huge range of single shot comets and mines which can be used to create a whole array of patterns and shapes across huge fronts of up to half a mile long. To compliment the comets we invested heavily in Spanish plume comet stands – semi-circular shaped galvanized steel stands that fan out up to 13 comets creating a huge peacocks tail shape in the sky. Using our computer firing systems the comets can be fired altogether, or in a rapid sequence one after the other creating a wave across the sky.
