The British Firework Championships 2015

It’s that time of year again, The British Firework Championships in Plymouth. It’s the premier annual display competition for all the top display companies in the UK and attracts tens of thousands of spectators. It takes place over two nights, 18 – 19th August 2015 and it’s totally free to view.

The championship started in 1997 and has grown in popularity ever since. It’s a fabulous chance for the leading firework companies to demonstrate their skills and the art of pyrotechnics to spectators and industry professionals all over the world and without doubt the best firework display you will see all year!

Each year six companies are selected by draw to take part, three on each evening and every sixth year the annual winners from the past five years plus the current Champion of Champions battle it out for the overall title of Champion of Champions. 2014 saw the introduction of an additional annual award which focusses on the innovative aspect of each display and recognises the way each team advances the art of pyrotechnics.

We’re really proud to hold the current title, British Champion of Champions after winning the Championship in 2010 and also being competition finalists in both 2007 and 2008. As overall winners we are automatically entered into the Champion event alongside the other five chosen finalists. Last years winner was Blitz Fireworks who’ll now go through and join us in the Champion event.

The companies who will be competing in this years competition will be;

Tuesday 18th August

  • Phoenix Fireworks
  • Spyrotechnics
  • Essex Pyrotechnics

Wednesday 19th August

  • Fantastic Fireworks
  • Gala Fireworks
  • 1st Galaxy Fireworks

The Hoe is the focal point for spectators and you’l also be able to enjoy all the fun of the fair, live music on the Heart FM stage and an array of food outlets from early evening. If you’d prefer a quieter location to view the competition then Plymouth Sound is for you. The competition kicks off from 9.30pm both nights with each company firing a ten minute display. They all fire from Mountbatten Breakwater.

From the team here at Star Fireworks, we’d like to wish all the contestants the very best of luck and we look forward to some top quality entertainment and to see who is crowned the winner of 2015.
